Art Week - Sculptures

This week was Art Week at Coppetts Wood. We were learning all about sculptures and the different techniques sculptors use to create their work. We used Henri Matisse and Donatello as fantastic examples of sculptures, but used the Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square as our inspiration.

In Geography, we have been learning all about Mexico and the different biomes and environments that exist there. We realised that there are so many incredible animals that are endangered or even extinct, and we decided that we wanted to raise awareness of that. If we were creating a sculpture for the Fourth Plinth, we would use Mexican animals as our inspiration. We made them on clay tiles and, hopefully, we will have the chance to paint them next half term.
