Besim's PE Challenges

Coppetts Wood School is kicking off with Euro 2020!

UEFA European Championship is the 16th men's football tournament of Europe organised by UEFA. The tournament will take place from 11th June - 11th July 2021. To celebrate, we are welcoming children to wear a t-shirt or football shirt for 1 day, representing the country they are supporting. 

 

Wimbledon Championships 2021

The 2021 Wimbledon Championships is a Grand Slam tennis tournament that is scheduled to take place at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club on 28th June - 11th July 2021, in Wimbledon, London, United Kingdom. 

 

Tokyo 2021 Olympics

The 2020 Summer Olympics, officially the Games of the XXXII Olympiad and also known as Tokyo 2020, is an upcoming international multi-sport event scheduled to be held from 23rd July - 8th August 2021 in Tokyo, Japan.

 

 

Tokyo 2021 Paralympic Games

The Olympics also hosts the Paralympics, for athletes with disabilities governed by the International Paralympic Committee. This major multi-sport event will take place from 24th August - 5th September 2021.

Challenges

Week 1: 'Speed Bounce'

Week 1 is the speed bounce challenge, or as I like to call the 'socks challenge'. You have 1 minute to bounce over the line and back, as many times as you can.

Tip: Ask a friend or family member to be the time keeper and count your score.

Week 2: 'Stationary Bag Lift'

Week 2 is the stationary bag lift challenge. Hold the bag up for as long as you can. Remember, your arms must not bend or be lowered at any time, otherwise your timer resets. My personal time was 1 minute, see if you can beat it, Good luck!

Tip: Bend your knees slightly and keep your back straight. Ask a friend or family member to be the time keeper.

Week 3: 'Hot Potato'

Week 3 is the hot potato throwing challenge. With a partner, practice throwing a small ball to each other, without dropping the ball. Each time you drop the ball, you must reset your score. You must be at least 1 metre away from your partner, if you fancy a challenge you can spread apart further. Count how many times you successfully throw the ball to each other, good luck!

Tip: Under-arm throw works best for accuracy.
