Barnet Library Service

Libraries are currently offering a Select and Collect service and are running a range of online activities. The links for library activities are published on the libraries events webpage and also weekly in our Discover your Library Newsletter for Children and Families. As and when lockdown restrictions are lifted, library services will be reintroduced as soon as it is practical and safe to do so. Please check the for details of services available at any time.

Barnardo's See, Hear, Respond Partnership

This is a new service funded by the Department for Education, which aims to identify and support children, young people and families who are struggling to cope with the impacts of coronavirus.

'The See, Hear, Respond Partnership has been created specifically to help children and young people in England who are experiencing harm and increased adversity during coronavirus, by providing support to those who are not being seen by schools or other key agencies. There is no minimum threshold for referral. We will support children from pre-birth up to 18 years of age and those with special educational needs under the age of 25.'

  • No vouchers required - they work on a basis of trust and dignity
  • They need help with getting the word to people in need
  • They also need donations from you and your neighbours delivered to St Barnabas Church on Saturdays 10am - 12noon

0-19 Practitioners are available to support with any issues that may be affecting your family.  Please speak to a member of staff or make a self referral using the Universal Plus form at the bottom of this page.

We also work with other agencies to help provide additional support including:

Legal Advice
Free legal advice for housing, family law and immigration can be arranged.  Call the centre to be signposted.

Parenting Programme
A ten week programme for parents who want to improve the relationship between themselves and their children.  Book your space at the centre.

Sleep Routines
Are you struggling to get your child into a sleep routine? Ask a member of staff in a session for support.

Toilet Training
Do you want to embark on toilet training but unsure where to start? Call to book an appointment to learn some tips and techniques.

Behaviour Management
Do you need support around your child's behaviour? Drop in to speak to a staff member who can help you with different strategies.

Welfare Rights
Do you need advice around benefits support? Call the centre to be referred to our Welfare Rights Advisor.

Fussy Eating
Is your child a fussy eater? Would you like to learn some techniques to help? Drop in to the Centre to talk to someone in our team about support.
