Parent letter on Corona Virus 17th March
17th March 2020
As you will know the advice from the government has changed. The guidance means that adults and children are required to self-isolate for 14 days if anyone in the household has a temperature or has developed a new cough. I would like to thank all the parents who have cooperated with this and are helping to keep our community as safe as we can.
At this time we have no known cases of the Covid-19 virus within our community but we are taking precautions as outlined by the government and Public Health England.
We do have a number of staff who are self-isolating as a precaution following the advice from the government around pre-existing health conditions, pregnancy and household members having a cough or high temperature. We will continue to monitor the situation and put in place measures as needed. As outlined previously, this may include:
- Cancelling non-statutory services such as Breakfast Club and After School clubs and boosters
- Splitting classes
- Sending some classes home
The government has not directed schools to close. We will continue to monitor their advice and staffing levels. In the case of school closure we will be providing some home learning activities.
We are able to give Food Bank Vouchers to families in need. If you need a voucher, please contact Sandra Greenyer in the Children’s Centre or ring her on 07917521350.
We will continue to keep you updated as the situation develops.
On a different note, Tatiana, one of our much loved TAs, will be leaving on Thursday. Tatiana has worked at the school for around 17 years and is hugely popular with the children. She will be much missed by all of us but I hope you will join me in wishing her all the best for the future as she starts a new job.
