Week 2 Hello
To the wonderful Phoenix Class,
I hope you and your loved ones are well. Thank you for your emails – it’s so lovely to hear from you and your grown-ups.
So here we are – end of Week 2 Home Learning. I hope you have enjoyed the tasks set by the Home Learning team. This is a quick reminder of what should have been completed:
Daily maths and English set on the class page. You should take no more than one hour to complete each subject. You can record your answers using paper and pencil or type them up.
Daily reading. It is really important that you read for a minimum of 20 minutes each day. Please record your reading in your reading diary or on additional paper.
Log on to four main websites and complete activities set at your own pace: Active Learn Bug Club, TTRockstars, Spag.com and Spellingframe.
Well done, Phoenix class, for beginning your Home Learning journey - you should be proud of yourselves and your achievements. By now, you should have attempted the daily maths and English tasks set, so if you haven’t, please try to catch up. You should have also logged on to the websites and tackled the tasks that were set for you.
Over the Easter break, you will not be set any new English and maths daily activities. Instead, you will be set Easter themed challenges so try your best to complete these over the two weeks. Please check the class page for details from the Home Learning team. One fun activity to look forward to is an Easter Egg Hunt on the website! This will go live on Friday 10th April to Sunday 12th April.
Friday Shout Out Time: A HUGE congratulations to the following children for their wonderful efforts:
Tower Challenge: Tegan, Elliott, Lena, Kerim, Levente and Lian.
Cooking: Lena for making scrumptious sweetcorn fritters and Tegan for making a delicious apple and peach crumble.
Thank you to Zara for writing a very kind email – you really cheered me up!
Well done to Archie who made a wonderful Lava Lamp this week.
Well done to Lian who wrote and performed a brilliant poem called Fork Week – your video really made me smile.
Please email the Home Learning team and I at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to share any of your Home Learning achievements.
And now…a round of virtual applause for this week’s top five TTRockstars: Kadiatou, Awesta, Charlotte, Anelso and Sami.
Although we didn’t win our battle against Thor class on TTRockstars, please continue your virtual applause for the following children who contributed in the battle: Awesta, Archie, Tegan, Nika, Kadiatou, Khaleel, Kaiden, Kerim, Zara, Mariam, Levente, Patricia, Elliott, Dajaun, Amari and Tia.

Finally, I wish you and your loved ones a wonderful Easter break. Enjoy spending time with your family and of course…eating lots of yummy Easter eggs!
Stay safe, keep well and happy holidays.
