Week 4 Hello

To the wonderful Phoenix class,

I hope you and your loved ones are safe and well.

Here we are in our fourth week of Home Learning, and I want to thank you and your grown-ups for all the hard work you are doing at home. I hope the routine of learning at home is becoming easier.

Here’s a quick reminder of the tasks to be completed each week.

Enjoy daily reading for a minimum of 20 minutes. You can record your reading in your reading diary or on additional paper.

Complete the daily English and maths lessons set on our class pages by clicking the HOME LEARNING button. Remember to watch the maths video which accompanies each maths lesson.

AND…for some very exciting news…

Coppetts has introduced a fantastic new educational website called Purple Mash. Individual logins have been emailed to your grown-ups, so LOG ON and have a go at the two fun activities that have been set. These are called Ancient Egyptian Party (a writing task) and Bond Bubbles (a maths game).

As always, it is wonderful to hear your weekly news and to celebrate your Home Learning achievements.

First of all, HUGE congratulations to Tegan who created an impressive Scratch video retelling the story of St. George, the dragon and the princess. Thank you, Tegan, for taking the time to remember and celebrate St George's day which was on Thursday 23rd April. Also, Tegan celebrated her big brother’s birthday by baking him a delicious strawberry and cream Swiss roll.

Well done to Levente and his little brother Barni who emailed a wonderful video of their morning yoga class.

Well done to Kerim whose French homework was très bon - Amanda was very impressed! Also, well done to Kerim for baking delicious chocolate cornflake cakes.

Well done to Erina who completed some wonderful Home Learning on the book Fantastic Mr. Fox.

Finally, well done to Lena who took part in this week’s Cooking Challenge and baked tasty Oat Biscuits.

If you have extra time, why not challenge yourself and take part in any of the wonderful Whole School Challenges. Every week, an exciting new creative, physical and cooking challenge is posted on to our school website.

Last but not least, although we didn’t win our battle against Thor class on TTRockstars, we must congratulate our top three Phoenix players:

yes Awesta for the most valuable player in the battle of the bands.

yes Nika for the 2nd most valuable player in the battle of the bands.

yes Patricia for the 3rd most valuable player in the battle of the bands.

Once again, well done to all of you for your hard work this week - I am really proud of you, Phoenix Class.

Keep well, keep safe, and I miss you all dearly.

Ms Hurree smiley
